The Joshua Redman Quartet Biography
The Joshua Redman Quartet brings together the musical vision of saxophonist Joshua Redman and the close interplay of a small jazz ensemble. Redman emerged as a leading figure in contemporary jazz in the 1990s, earning attention for his expressive tenor saxophone, thoughtful improvisation, and ability to move between straight-ahead jazz and more exploratory sounds. His career includes acclaimed recordings such as Wish, Moodswing, and Elastic, alongside collaborations with prominent jazz musicians.
The quartet format gives Redman room to shape a performance through conversation between saxophone, piano, bass, and drums. Audiences can expect a set rooted in jazz tradition while leaving space for spontaneous arrangements and extended solos. The Joshua Redman Quartet Phoenix reviews
Simply put, they are THE BEST!
When you first see the massive stage standing there dully in the arena, you can begin to question the motives behind it. But nothing, and I mean nothing, can prepare you for this show!!! The lights go down and the pulse of the building starts to quicken, you understand what makes them the biggest, and BEST, band in the world!! Adrenaline started flowing from the first moment they took the stage and continued throughout the night. There is no better touring band today, simply put. Everyone and anyone will enjoy these songs being performed by the actual people who wrote them, and there is an undeniable magic while they perform together. The Joshua Redman Quartet sets the bar into outer space for other bands to follow! I've seen a lot of legacy acts.
